Dear First Grader,

I hope you had a great summer.  I have been waiting all summer long to meet you,
and can't wait to take you on the most magical learning adventures this year!
Get excited--we are going to be reading oodles of GRRREAT books, writing and
illustrating stories just like real authors, solving all kinds of puzzling math problems,
learning about rules and responsibilities, doing science investigations, and along the way
we'll be dancing, singing, laughing, and having FUN learning together!  

School begins on Tuesday, August 28th at 8:00 a.m.  You will come to the cafeteria
to meet me and the other first grade teachers.    

Please bring these supplies to school on the first day.  You do not need to put your name
on these supplies. Simply place them in a bag and I will collect and sort everything the
first day of school. Do not send in anything that is not listed below.  Sometimes to
make supplies can be distracting.

*12 small glue sticks (purple Elmer’s if possible)
*1 box pencils (Ticonderoga if possible)
*4 fine point whiteboard markers ( black only/Expo brand if possible)
*1 box of 24 Crayola crayons
*2 packages of baby wipes (for cleaning dirty desks during the day)
*1 bottle of hand sanitizer
*2 box of tissues
*2 package of napkins
*Headphones for Chromebook
*1 pair of child safe scissors

*1 clipboard*1 small accordion file folder (found at the Dollar Store or Target Dollar Spot/index card size)

I will be providing you with a pencil box and a M.A.G.I.C. Book.

Don’t forget to bring a healthy snack (PEANUT FREE) and a drink too!
You may want to bring a sweater or sweatshirt, as we have an air conditioned classroom.

We are going to have a “Wand”erful year!  See you soon first grader!

Parents:  As of now your child has been placed on my class list.  Class lists have been
known to change even up till the first day of school.  If there is a change, I will direct your
child to the correct teacher the first day of school.
